MEMORable
Memory is something we understand and experience individually. It is influenced by a range of complex factors shaped by our personal experiences and our perception of time and place. Reality itself is defined by perception. These pages explore the human mind through a series of tests designed to reveal aspects of both short- and long-term memory, as well as to examine how our perception of memory influences what we know about ourselves and the world around us. As I conducted these tests with friends and peers, I analyzed both the participants’ reactions and the data they produced through these activities and drawings.
All final data was compiled into a hand-bound book.
exercise 1
Participants were given an image to study for 10 seconds. They were then given a blank sheet of paper to draw the scene from memory.
exercise 2 & 3
Participants were given two word lists to study. One list contains a random combination of words while the second is organized
by category. The word list is then removed and participants are asked to record as many words as they can remember from the initial list.
